Showkat Aziz Russell is the son of M. A. Hashem, an iconic Businessman (Founder, Partex Group). His journey with Amber Cotton Mills Limited started in 1996 which is now known as Amber Group. The group flourished in the market and gradually ventured from cotton to other successful areas where the group operates now. He strongly stepped into Information & Communication Technology business under Amber IT facilitating Internet Gateway, software solutions, IP telephony, e-commerce.

Amber Group has also ventured into the industrial sector, manufacturing textile yarn, fabric, RMG, wood & jute chip particleboards with a variety of veneered lamination and furniture, operating under Amber denim, Amber board, Amber doors etc. The leisure industry is also included in their business with names like Bhawal Resort.
